Blastin' and Castin' in the Texas Outdoors

We havea lot of good times, the road was a drug when we started way back, our wheels rolled on steady, now its forgetting the race to find an open space and leaving that city far behind We’ll be up in the morning before the sun, since anything beats working on the job and everyone knows the early worm gets the fish. The world is your oyster, let the high times carry the low, walk where the sun is shining, lay your burdens down and think to yourself that it sure feels good feeling good again.

Anyone up for a little off-shore action?

As most of you know, I am currently working toward gradgiatin (using Chris's vernacular) and anxiously awaiting November when the firearms and rods take up permanent residence in the truck. My best friend from the Buckeye State and my brother-in-law are interested in a little trip down from Yankeeland to try their hand at a little blastin' and castin' Tejas style. I think we're going to head down Corpus way and spend a day in the surf and another off-shore. The topic comes up every once in a while and thought some of you might be interested. The dates are still open (sometime in November or early December), so chip in your two-cents if you're up for it. As a side note, Tom tried his hand at putting his deviant lifestyle behind him and became a cop, so we can see if he can get one of his police issued AR-15s down here. At the least, perhaps a flash of his badge might help if any legal problems pop-up.

if anonymous is buying save me a seat, otherwise I don't think I can swing that kind of Jack at that time of year.

I have done pretty well on bull reds in the surf all the way up to the 2nd week in November. I have never tried fishing any later than that.

What is biting off-shore in December? You might want to research that.

yea, but that wes a freak trip, remember, 78 degrees, 1-3 ft swells? The Capt said he was amazed! As for me, I'll chip in $0.02 If someone is willing to pay my gas to get there, or better yet, come pick me up, I'm in. Otherwise...probably not so much. But the snapper bite year round, they dont notice alot of weather changes at 80+ feet.
