Blastin' and Castin' in the Texas Outdoors

We havea lot of good times, the road was a drug when we started way back, our wheels rolled on steady, now its forgetting the race to find an open space and leaving that city far behind We’ll be up in the morning before the sun, since anything beats working on the job and everyone knows the early worm gets the fish. The world is your oyster, let the high times carry the low, walk where the sun is shining, lay your burdens down and think to yourself that it sure feels good feeling good again.

P-Dog Camp??

I just got access to about 1/2 a hundred, 000 acres in extreme south eastern Colorado. The quary...Critters. Mainly prairie dogs, millions of em, seriously. My plan is to throw out the open invite, I'd kinda like to get enough for a good game of bones to go on, but more would be OK too. All it would cost is gas, booze, food, and bullets. Any takers? The date is wide open, but it would probably be most productive before they stary to hibernate. Think of it as some damn good sightin in time before deer season.

I'm up for anything, any time, I have no solid plans for either, I'll be bummin hunts offa yall. However, as for the drive, I BELIEVE Senior Wood is interested so it may be a drive from B/CS to D/FW then some cost share to AMA. From there, I'll take care of the $ side of it. I guess you asked a question back there, I just reread. 7.5 hr from driveway to driveway, thats through D/FW and that is leasure driving, no tickets. Oddly enough once I put the hammer down and got a ticket and it took 7.75 hr. I attribuite this to a slow cop. The hunt spot is about 90 minuites north of me. So what cha think?

What about birds, when are we allowed to shoot ringnecks, I heard you see them up there.

I might even consider a weekend dove blasting (wasting box after box of shot shells).

Call me crazy but if I am going to go all out and make a trip I would like there to be some chance of freezer filler.

I don't exactly hate prairie dogs but thats not to say that if I come up there for birds that I would be opposed to shooting some prairie rats.

Phesants dont come in till Dec 3-Jan 1 Quail Oct 29-Feb 26. Dove, and we gottalotta Dove TOMORROW. I'm being dragged (kicking & screaming) to Houston this weekend, Scooters folks are flying us down, so anything after that is open by me, we can do a fair bit of dove slaying then slide up to CO and shoot P-Dogs till our ears bleed. I have tasted the dogs, they are not too terrible, not alot of meat to em but you can certainly fill a freezer with em if you want. On a side note a restaraunt up here got busted for selling them as rabbit. Damn chinamen think everything is palatable. I guess prairie dogs are the 10 inch sheeps head of the flatlands. But they sure are fun to blast.
