Blastin' and Castin' in the Texas Outdoors

We havea lot of good times, the road was a drug when we started way back, our wheels rolled on steady, now its forgetting the race to find an open space and leaving that city far behind We’ll be up in the morning before the sun, since anything beats working on the job and everyone knows the early worm gets the fish. The world is your oyster, let the high times carry the low, walk where the sun is shining, lay your burdens down and think to yourself that it sure feels good feeling good again.

My revolver

Gentlemen,

I'm having an issue with my piece-of-shit Taurus revolver and I am hoping that I can fix it without having to go to the hassle of mailing it back to the factory again.

The firing pin is hitting the primer hard enough to make a small dent but with insufficient force to fire the bullet. This happens about 1/3 of the time. I have tried two different bullets that worked fine in my other .357.

Is there a simple adjustment I can make?

Not positive, but since Taurus is pretty much a Smith clone, try this. Remove the grips. On the front side of the handel frame, at the bottom, there should be a screw. If it is a clone of the smith, this screw will control mainspring pressure. Tighten the screw all the way ( this may cause an increase in trigger pull, but it will make the gun go bang). If the screw is not in the above mentioned local, take a pic of the gun with the grips off and post it. Basically though, there should be a screw inside the grip somewhere that needs to be tightened and locktited in place.

Look over the manual, (if you still have it) anything that says "mainspring tension screw" or set screw will be the thing to look for. Call me if you need any on the spot advice. 806-290-0878
